Jewellery house, Van Cleef & Arpels, is expected to open its shop doors at P.C. Hooftstraat 140 Amsterdam in the middle of this year.

Van Cleef & Arpels was founded in 1896 by Dutch diamond cutter Alfred van Cleef and French Salomon Arpels. The company has more than 155 boutiques worldwide and is part of the listed luxury conglomerate Richemont S.A.

The retail space has a total area of around 600 m², comprising the ground floor, basement and first floor, and is characterised by a unique 13-metre-wide facade designed by UNStudio.

While at pedestrian level the façade is made of custom cast stainless steel bricks with glass inlays, on the second floor it merges back into the anthracite-coloured brickwork of a traditional Dutch mansion. As such, this veil of stainless steel bricks can be experienced from a distance in different ways, while remaining in step with Amsterdam’s architectural heritage.

B&O Retail represented the landlord in this transaction.
