On December 14, 2020 The Netherlands were put in to lockdown because of the increasing number in infections of the Covid-19 virus. On top of these measures, the government set a curfew for 21.00 hours. This resulted in a number of demonstrations of which some resulted in looting and destroying retail spaces. Taking no risk, the owners of the stores at the luxury street, P.C. Hooftstraat decided to prevent any looting by locking their stores down.

P.C. Hoofstraat has a different look now.
