B&O Retail is very proud to announce that NIO is the new tenant of the iconic building at Leidsestraat 34-36/corner Keizersgracht 455 in Amsterdam.
The building was commissioned by the New York Life Insurance Company in 1891. The former department store Metz & Co was located here. In 2012 B&O RETAIL introduced the American fashion brand Abercrombie & Fitch in the Netherlands and at that time leased this building to A&F.
With Nio a long-term lease for the nearly 3,000-square-metre building has been signed between NIO and the owner, a private investor, on market terms. NIO is a Chinese multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Shanghai, specializing in designing and developing electric vehicles. The company is known for its development of battery-swapping stations for its vehicles as an alternative to conventional charging stations.
B&O Retail represented the interests of the landlord, while real estate advisor Insight Real Estate has realized this transaction on behalf of tenant NIO Netherlands. Lexence represented the legal interests of the landlord.
